Livingston Trucking has deep roots—starting in 1982 with a single cattle-hauling truck—and today operates a diverse and high-volume freight operation across the U.S. Under Daryl’s leadership, the company has expanded steadily while holding onto its family-first culture. Dispatchers, drivers, and office staff work closely together across six divisions, including food-grade tankers, chicken hauls, and gravel.
With over 75 drivers and 6 leased owner-operators, Livingston needed more than just a basic TMS. Dispatching hundreds of recurring loads, managing split-driver pay, and aligning with weekly fuel surcharge changes demanded a system that could match their real-world complexity.

Business Challenges before Toro
Before Toro, Livingston Trucking relied on a patchwork of manual processes and outdated tools. Challenges included:

Loads were created in Anzio and invoiced manually, often requiring cross-checking with physical paperwork submitted weekly by drivers. - Complex Driver Pay Logic
Drivers get paid percentages of certain charges that need to be categorized and kept organized. It was a manual entry process to make sure that calculations were done correctly. - Split Driver Scenarios
Preload and delivery splits between two drivers required constant overrides and manual adjustments. - Fuel Management & Expense Tracking
EFS cards, offsite tanks, and yard pumps each had their own reporting format, creating confusion around reconciling expenses.

The Transition
Toro’s onboarding team, including an onsite visit in May 2025, worked shoulder-to-shoulder with Livingston’s staff to ensure the platform was tailored to their operation. The team mapped out workflows for each division, trained dispatchers and billing staff, and configured complex rate schedules and driver pay logic.
